Many people have heard of Search Engine Optimisation but most don't understand what it is. ClickZ released a comprehensible and informative article on Keyword Forensics, that I recommend you all read. It discusses how keyword research aims to understand how consumers search and what words will trigger them to click to the right information.
"Investigating the meaning behind the keywords and searcher intent leads us to some valuable insight into human behaviour. Some call this keyword forensics.”
Keyword research is designed to learn the what, how, and why of our target audience. By studying trends and behaviour we can learn more about searcher intent so that we can lead them to the content they are looking for. Moreover, we can lead them to our own content.
